Chap. 58.—An ACT to authorize the Conveyance of Land by the In-
stitution of the Deaf and Dumb and the Blind.
Approved January 19, 1875.
Whereas a proposition has been made by Thomas D. Ran-
son to the board of visitors of the institution for the deaf
and dumb and the blind, having for its object the establish-
ment of the lines between a lot owned by said Ranson and
the grounds of said institution, and adjustment of mutual
encroachments ascertained by survey, and involving the ex-
change by said institution of a triangular parcel of land, con-
taining about fourteen hundred square feet, for a parcel of
about three hundred square feet, situated more advantage-
ously for its purposes, and one hundred dollars in money,
and permanently securing to said institution the paved walk
and side entrance as Mow located; and whereas the said
board is not disposed, without special authority from the
legislature, to conclude an arrangement effecting the real
property of the institution: now therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the board
of visitors of the institution for the deaf and dumb and the
blind, be and are hereby authorized to accept the proposition
of suid Ranson, should the proposed arrangement be deemed
by them proper and desirable for the interests of the institu-
tion.
2. Be it further enacted, That the said board be, and are
hereby empowered, by their president cr other duly consti-
tuted agent, to execute such deed as may be proper to carry
such arrangement into effect, if approved by them.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
