Chap. 340.—An ACT to provide Commutation in leu of an Artificial
Leg for E. F. Profit.

Approved March 31, 1875.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the auditor
of publig accounts be and ho is hereby authorized to issue a
warrant on the treasury of this commonwealth, in favor of
E. F. Proffit, for sixty dollars, hereby allowed him as com-
mutation in lieu of an artificial leg, hc having been maimed
in the service of the Confederate States during the late war,
the warrant to be issued by the auditor upon the production
of.a certificate from the county court of Amherst that the
said Proffit is a resident of said county, and has been maimed
as aforesaid; and the said sum to be paid out of any money
in the treasury not otherwise appropriated.

2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
