Chap. 295.—An ACT to authorize D. A. Plecker and others to Con-
struct a Tram or Narrow-G@&ge Railroad, at or near Mount Crawford
pot, to Bridgewater.
Approved March 29, 1875.
Be it enacted by the general assembly, That D. A.
‘ker, G. W. Berlin, Joseph A. Loose, Aaron Shutters,
liam Monger, Michael Carmen, and such other persons as
7 may associate with them, shall be and they are hereby
ared a body politic and corporate, for the purpose of
structing and maintaining a tram or a narrow gauge
‘oad, from the Valley railroad at or near the Mount Craw-
depot, to or near Bridgewater, by way of Mount Craw-
, in Rockingham county.
“That the capital stock of said company shall not be less
a five thousand dollars nor more than twenty thousand
ars, to be divided into shares of fifty dollars each; and
whenever the first named amount is subscribed, and two J.
centum thereon paid in, they are authorized to orgat!
under this charter; and shall have all the rigbts, and be <a
ject to all the provisions of the Code of Virginia, applic!
to internal improvement companies.
3. That it shall be lawful for the said company to acquis
by purchase or in subscription to the capital stock ot =i
company, or by donation, tands, property, materials 31
labor.
’ 4, The work on this road shall be commenced within 1
years, and shall be finished within five years.
5. This act shall be in force from its passage, and shai |
subject to amendment, modification, or repeal, at the pleasur
of ths gencral assembly.
