1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia. ]
the first section of an act éntitled an act to incorpors::!
Greene Humane Society, and for other purposes, ps
March fifteenth, eighteen hundred and fifty-one, be ame!
and re-enacted so as to read as follows:

§ 1. Be it enacted, That the county court of Greene ;
be and it is hereby authorized and directed, at its nex: 4
or May term, to appoint three trustees, (one from each m:
terial district), who shall bold their offices dyring a tert
five years, subject, nevertheless, to be removed at any t
at the discretion of the court, and in all cases of vacs
whether from death, removal or otherwise, the said «
shall have power, and it shall be its duty, to fill said vars
for the unexpired term; and the said court is further av
rized and directed to fix the pay of said trustees at no:
ceeding three dollars per day for each trustce: provide-i
trustee shall receive more than twelve dollars in any
year. The term of office for said trustees shall comm:
the first day of July, eighteen hundred and seventy-five.

2, This act shall be in force from and after the first dy
April, eighteen hundred and d seventy- -five.
