‘Chap. 280.—An ACT to authorize the Board of Directors of the West:
ern Lunatic Asylum to sell certain Lots of Land belonging to saic
Asylum.
Approved March 29, 1875.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the board
of directors of the Western lunatic asylum be and they are
hereby authorized to sell at public auction, to the highest
bidder, upon such terms as they shall deem best, after three
weeks’ notice, published in some newspaper printed in the
town of Staunton, the following described property bolong-
ing to said asylum, namely, a lot of land lying north of the
Chesapeake and Ohio railroad, and cut off from the other
land of the asylum, containing about two and a half acres;
and a certain other parcel of land lying on Garber’s hill.
containing about one-half acre, and known as the Reservoir

. That the board of directors shall convey said property ;
by proper deeds, to the purchagers thercof, and use and ap-
propriate. the moncy arising from said sales towards the
building of a superintendent’s house for said asylum.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
