Chap. 224.—An ACT to incorporate The Protestant Episcopal Church
Home.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That Francir
M. Whittle, George Woodbridge, Joshua Peterkin, T. G.
Dashiell, F. W. Hanewinckel, 5. B. Addison, J. O. Steger,
John H. Claiborne, and William F. Gray, for the purpose oi
oroviding a home for indigent females, be and they are here-
by incorporated under the name of The Protestant Episcopal
Church Home, with the power to hold property, real and
personal, not exceeding two hundred thousand dollars ir
value, which property shall not be subject to taxation; to
sue and be sued; to have and use a common seal; to make
contracts, and to do all other things necessary for the attaic-
ment of the purposes of this incorporation.
2. The said corporators shall have the power to adopts
constitution, and to enact by-Iaws, not in conflict with the
constitution and laws of this commonwealth; to fill any
vacancy in their number which may occur from death or
resignation, or refusal or inability to act, and to de‘tezate
their powers to a board of managers, or such other agents
as they may select.
3. The said corporators may also establish a home for in-
digent males, and a hospital for the reception and treatment
of sick persons, and may make and enforce such rules as are
necessary for its government and good order.
4. This act shall be in force from its passage.
