Chap. 215.—An ACT for the Relief of S. F. G. Beale, late Treasurer of
Fauquier County.
Approved March 25, 1875.
1. Be it enacted by the goneral assembly, That authority
be given to the auditor of public accounts to suspend collec-
tion of a judgment, in the name of the commonwealth,
against S. F. G. Beale, late treasurer of Fauquier, and Wil-
liam Beale, J. H. Rixey, C. HL. Gordon, W. Millan, William
M. Hume and J. W. James, his sureties, for a period not ex-
ceeding twelve months: provided, he shall be satisfied that
the same is sufficiently secured by the judgment lien; bat
nothing herein contained shall be construed to prohibit the
auditor from collecting the debt whenever he may think
proper to do so.
2. The auditor of public accounts is authorized and hereby
required, upon a settlement of the aforcsaid judgment, to
receive from said sureties, in discharge of said judgment
against said sureties, payment of the principal, legal interest.
costs and expenses of collection, abating therefrom the dam-
ages which have been awarded for said default.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
