Chap. 127.—An ACT to amend the twenty-cighth section of chapter
100, Code of 1878, and to repeal an Act, approved April 30, 1874,
with reference to the Destruction of Fish in the North Pork of Hols-
ton River.
Approved February 23, 1875.
1. Be it enacted by the gencral assembly, That section
twenty-cight of chapter one hundred of the Code of eigh-
teen hundred and Beventy- -three, be amended and re-enacted
so as to read as follows:
§ 28. No person shall hereafter draw or haul any seine,
net, drag or trap in the waters of the North fork of Holston
river for the purpose of taking fish therefrom at any time
from the first of April until the first day of July in any
year; any person offending against this section shall, on
conviction thereof before a justice of the peace, forfeit ‘and
pay ten dollars for each offence, and forfeit their seine or
net, which sum when collected shall be paid over to the
overseer of the poor of the county in which such offence
may be committed, for the support of the poor.
2. Be it further enacted, That an act approved April thir-
tieth, eighteen hundred and seventy-four, entitled an act to
prevent “the destruction of fish in the North fork of Holston
river, be and the same is hereby repealed.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
