Chap. 92.—An ACT to Amend and Re-enact an Act entitled an Act to
Prescribe the Times for Holding the Circuit Courts of the State, in force
19th March, 1872.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the act en-
titled an act to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act to
prescribe the times for the holding of the terms of the circuit.
courts of the state, approved July eleventh, eighteen hundred
and seventy, which last was approved February the third, eigh-
teen hundred and seventy-one, and was again amended by an
act approved March twenty-first, eighteen hundred and seventy-
two, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 1. The circuit courts of this state shall hold their terms
hereafter at the times hereinafter specified, to wit:
First circuit.
Portsmouth city—Fifteenth of March and September.
Norfolk county—Twenty-fourth of March and September.
Princess Anne—Fifth of April and October.
Nansemond—Twelfth of April and October.
Isle of Wight—Nineteenth of April and October.
Surry—Twenty-ninth of April and October.
Southampton—Sixth of May and November.

17. That all causes and matters now pending in the circuit
court for the county of James City, and all causes and matters
now pending in the circuit court for the city of Williamsburg,
and all causes and matters which were pending in the old cir-
cuit court for the city of Williamsburg and county of James
City at the time of the passage of the act approved July the
eleventh, eighteen hundred and seventy, prescribing the times
for the holding of the terms of the circuit courts of the state,
shall be transferred to the circuit court for the county of James
City and city of Williamsburg, and shall be docketed and
heard and determined in the last mentioned court.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
