Chap. 44.—An ACT to Authorize the Supervisors of Caroline County to
Grant a Lot of Land in the Town of Port Royal to the Baptist
Church.

Whereas, there has been a vacant lot in the town of Port
Royal, in the county of Caroline, known as the Green, which
for many years has been considered as public property, and,
whereas, the citizens of said town and vicinity, of the Baptist
denomination, are anxious to build a house of worship on a
part of said vacant lot, designated in the petition which is
before the general assembly ; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the super-
visors of the county of Caroline, a majority being present and
assenting thereto, shall have power to grant to the Baptist
church of said town of Port Royal and vicinity, the part of
said vacant lot which the petitioners desire, for the purpose of
erecting a house of worship thereon, with such limitations and.
restrictions as they may deem proper and right.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
