Chap. 387.—An ACT to Authorize the Common Council of Petersburg
to issue Bonds to the amount of One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dol-
lars, for the purpose of Paying off the Indebtedness of said City.

Approved April 2, 1873.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the common council of the city of Petersburg be and the same
are hereby authorized to issue bonds in the name of said city,
in such sums and denominations as they may deem proper, not
exceeding one hundred and fifty thousand dollars, bearing date
the first day of May, eighteen hundred and seventy-three, and
payable thirty years after date, with coupons attached for the
interest thereon at a rate not exceeding eight per cent. per an-
num, for the purpose of paying off the indebtedness of said

2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
