Chap. 292.—An ACT to Authorize the County of Surry to Borrow Money
to Rebuild the Jail Recently Destroyed by Fire.

» 1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the board of supervisors of the county of Surry, in order
to enable them to rebuild the jail of said county, be and they
are hereby authorized and empowered to execute bonds of said
county, to the amount of three thousand dollars, or so much
thereof as may be necessary, in denominations of not less than
one hundred dollars, and bearing interest at a rate not exceed-
ing the rate of interest allowed bylaw; one thousand dollars
of which shall be due and payable in one year, one thousand
dollars in two years, and the remainder in three years; but the
interest on all the said bonds shall be payable annually.
2. That said board of supervisors are furthermore author-
ized and empowered to negotiate said bonds or raise money
thereon by putting them upon the market, or by making sale
of them in such manner as in their judgment may be deemed
best.
