Chap. 279.—An AOT to Amend the fifty-eighth Section of the Act passed
at the Present Session of the General Assembly, entitled an Act for the
Preservation of Oysters and to Obtain a Revenue for the Privilege of
taking them Within the Waters of the Commonwealth.
Approved March 29, 1873.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the fifty-
eighth section of an act passed at the present session of the
general assembly, entitled an act for the preservation of oys-
ters, and to obtain a revenue for the privilege of taking them
within the waters of the commonwealth, be and the same is
hereby amended and re-enacted to read as follows:
§ 58. No persons who shall have paid the tax imposed by
the law existing before this act takes effect, shall be required
to pay license, or pay any tax imposed by this act until the ex-
piration of the year for which he has paid such tax, and where
persons have heretofore planted oysters, or have sowed shells
to produce oysters, the inspector shall allow such person until
the first day of April, eighteen hundred .and seventy-four, for
the removal of the same without imposing any tax.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
Chap. 280—An ACT to Authorize the County Court of Stafford County
to appoint Commissioners to Re-arrange the Boundaries of the Fence
Law in said County.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the county court of the county of Stafford shall be and is
hereby authorized to appoint three commissioners for each
township in said county, who shall have authority, if they deem
it expedient, to re-arrange the boundaries heretofore established
under the law relating to fences, and for the protection of
crops in said county, passed January twenty-sixth, eighteen
hundred and sixty-six.
2. Said commissioners shall meet at some time and place to
be designated in the order appointing them, and their action
shall be reported to said county court, and if said report be
confirmed by said court, the same shall be recorded in the
clerk's office, and notice thereof shall be given to the people if
it be determined by the court to change said boundaries; the
court shall cause the line to be designated, and thereafter the same
shall be the lawful line between the owners and proprietors of
adjacent lands, and shall be deemed and taken as a lawful fence.
3. The boundaries thus established shall not go into opera-
tion until such time as said court or commissioners shall direct.
