Chap. 252.—An ACT to Authorize the Issue of Land Warrants for Small
Quantities in Lieu of Warrants Heretofore Issued for Large Quantities
of =
Approved March 27, 1873.
Whereas, land warrants for large quantities. of land were 1
issued under the provisions of chapter one hundred and twelve {
of the Code of eighteen hundred and sixty, which have never .
been carried into grant; and whereas, it is represented that the
owners of many of said warrants desire to have new warrants
(for smaller quantities, but aggregating the original warrants)
issued in lieu of the said warrants: therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the register
of the land office is hereby authorized and required, upon the I
application of the owners of said warrants, their heirs, execu- t
tors, administrators and assigns, to issue new warrants, in ¢
leu of said warrants, for quantities of land not less than fifty y
acres in any one warrant; and said new warrants shall aggre- 4
gate the amount, embraced in the originals, but said originals ©
shall be cancelled and filed away by said register. :
2. For all services rendered under this act, the same fees F
shall be paid, before the delivery of said new warrants, that
are required under existing laws to be paid for the re-issue of
warrants which have been lost or destroyed.
3. All acts and parts-of acts inconsistent with the provisions nr
of this act are hereby repealed. el
4. This act shall be in force from its passage. C
