Chap. 243.—JOINT RESOLUTIONS Expressing the Concurrence of the
General Assembly in the Governor's Recommendation of the Assump-
tion of the Debts of the several States by the Federal Government.
Agreed to March 26, 1873.
Whereas, the governor of Virginia has transmitted to the preami
general assembly his special message, recommending the as- Beer
sumption and payment of the existing debts of all the states relativ
by the United States government: therefore, amps
1. Resolved by the general assembly of Virginia, That it eh
concurs in the said recommendation of the governor as wise, curred
just and expedient.
2. Resolved, That the governor be requested to transmit
copies of these resolutions, together with the message, to the
general assembly of each of the states, and request their con-
currence therein; and that our senators and representatives in
congress be requested to give this matter their earnest at-
tention.
