CHAP. 233.—An ACT to Authorize the Common Council of the Town of
Danville to Borrow Money.
In force March 26, 1873.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the common
council of the town of Danville be and they are hereby author-
ized and empowered to borrow such sum or sums of money as
they may deem requisite, at a rate of interest not exceeding
ten per cent. per annum, for the purpose of establishing water
works or gas works and purchasing the necessary land and
water rights for the same within or without the limits of said
town, or for the purpose of making any other public improve-
ment within their corporation; and they are authorized to issue
registered or coupon bonds of the town of Danville, redeema-
able within a period not greater than thirty-four years, for
such sum or sums as may be so borrowed, and pledge the
funds and property of said corporation for the payment of
principal and interest.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
