Chap. 217.—JOINT RESOLUTION Memorializing Congress to Donate
Public Lands for Public Free Schools in Virginia.

Agreed to March 10, 1873.

1. Resolved by the house of delegates (the senate concurring),
That the congress of the United States be and the same is
hereby memorialized to set apart such portion of the public
lands as is in their judgment expedient to be devoted to public
free school purposes in the state of Virginia.

That our representatives in congress be requested to pre-
sent this memorial, and to use their influence in procuring
such legislation.
