Chap. 201.—An ACT to Authorize the Division of Speedwell School Dis-
trict, in the County of Wythe, into two School Districts.
Approved March 20, 1873.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That it shall be
lawful for the county school board of Wythe county, at any
general or special meeting, a majority of said board being
present, and a majority of those present agreeing, to divide
the Speedwell school district in said county into two school
districts of as nearly an equal area as practicable, and to define
and prescribe in some definite manner the boundary lines
between said districts.
2. After said division shall have been made, it shall be the
duty of the said county school board to cause a certified copy
of their action in the premises to be forwarded to the board of
education of the state, who shall cause the same to be filed in
their office, and thereafter the said division shall be legal and
effective.
3. It shall also be the duty of the said county school board
to certify to the board of education how many and which of
the present school trustees of Speedwell school district reside
respectively in each of the two districts hereby authorized to
be formed, and thereupon it shall be the duty of the said
board of education to appoint a sufficient number of school
trustees in addition, to make a board of three trustees for
each of said school districts. __
