Chap. 126.—JOINT RESOLUTIONS to Authorize the Board of Public
Works to Receive the Amount Due by the Alexandria, Loudoun and
Hampshire Railroad Company, and to Extend the Time for the Comple-
tion of the Washington and Ohio Raiirvad to the Town of Winchester,
Approved March 8, 1873.
1. Resolved (the house of delegates concurring), That in the
opinion of the general assembly it is inexpedient for the board
of public works to take any steps at this time to enforce the
forfeiture to the state, if any has been made, of the stock of
the state in the railroad company formerly called the Alexan-
dria, Loudoun and Hampshire Railroad Company, now the
Washington and Ohio Railroad Company, under the contract
of the sale thereof and the deed of trust executed by the com-
any.
P 2 Resolved, That if the said road shall be completed to
Winchester within three years from this time the said forfeiture
shall not be exacted, but if said road shall not be completed to
Winchester within three years, then that such forfeiture shall
be enforced; and any payment now received by the board of
public works shall be subject to this condition; and, subject
to this condition, the board of public works is authorized to
receive the amount now in alrear in money.
