Chap. 122.—An ACT to Authorize the Common Council of Petersburg to
Issue Bonds of the City, to the Amount of Forty Thousand Dollars, for
Public School Purposes.
Approved March 7, 1873.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the common
council of the city of Petersburg be and they are hereby au-
thorized to issue the bonds of the city to the amount of forty
thousand dollars, in such number and denominations as the
council may prescribe, having thirty years to run from April
first, eighteen hundred and seventy-three, and to negotiate or
sell the same; the bonds to have coupons attached, bearing
interest at the rate of eight per cent. per annum. Said bonds
to be designated and known as school bonds; the proceeds
thereof to be used for the purchase of a suitable site, or sites,
and erecting public school buildings.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
