Chap. 116.—An ACT to Amend and Re-enact the Ist Section of the Act
passed March 4th, 1872, Amending and Re-enacting the Act passed
July 11th, 1870, entitled an Act to Incorporate the Potomac and Ma-
nassas Railroad Company.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the first sec- c
tion of the act to amend and re-enact an act approved July §
eleventh, eighteen hundred and seventy, entitled an act to in-¢
corporate the Potomac and Manassas Railroad Company, ap- 1
proved March fourth, eighteen hundred and seventy-two, be P.
amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
$1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That Anson
Bangs and such others as may be associated with him, and
their successors, shall be and are hereby created a corporation,
by the name of the Potomac and Manassas Railroad Company,
for the purpose of constructing a railroad from the Potomac
river at Potomac, in Prince William county, to the line of
West Virginia or Maryland, at some point between the Point
of Rocks and the mouth of Goose creek, by such route as the
company may deem most eligible and correct, and are hereby
authorized to purchase or lease from the Orange, Alexandria
and Manassas railroad company, now known by the name of
the Washington City, Virginia, Midland and Great Southern
railroad company, all or any part of the road known as the
Manassas track of said company, upon such terms as may be
agreed upon by the two companies, or to consolidate with said
Manassas branch, upon such terms as may be agreed upon by
the two companies.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
