Chap. 869.—An ACT Authorizing the County Judge of Westmoreland
County to Appoint Special Commissioners to Kevise Land Books of
said County.

_ 1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the judge of the county court of Westmoreland county may
‘appoint a commissioner from each township in said county, to
meet at the courthouse thereof, for the purpose of correcting
and revising the land books of said county, with authority to
make any transfers of land necessary to be made in the land
books of said county in accordance with existing laws: pro-
vided, said commissioners shall be paid a per diem allowance
not exceeding four dollars for every day of actual service, to be
paid out of the county levy, when certified to the board of
supervisors by the county judge. Notice of the meeting of
said commissioners shall be given by public notice, posted for
twenty days previous thereto at the courthouse, and at each
election precinct in said county. The attorney for the com-
monwealth shall attend the sessions of said commissioners,
and represent the commonwealth, and any person interested,
or the said commonwealth’s attorney for the commonwealth,
may appeal from their decisions to the court of said county.
2. The said commissioners shall be appointed on or before
the first day of September, eighteen hundred and seventy-two,
and shall complete their labors by the first day of November,
eighteen hundred and seventy-two.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
