Chap. 53.—JOINT RESOLUTION Whether a Recess of the Legislature
is computed in the five days allowed the Governor to Consider a Bill or
Resolution submitted to him for Approval or Rejection.

Resolved by the general assembly of Virginia, That all bills
and joint resolutions which passed the general assembly, and
were presented to the governor for his approval within less
than five days preceding the late recess, and were not returned
to the clerk or some other proper officer of the house in which
they respectively originated, with the objections of the governor
thereto, became laws, to take effect, when not otherwise pro-
vided, after five days from such presentation.
