Chap. 46.—An ACT to Amend the Second Section of the Act entitled An
Act to Incorporate the Masonic Temple Association, passed March 13,
1858, as Amended by an Act approved March 31, 1871.
Approved January 30, 1872.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That cn
the second section of the act entitled an act to incorporate the °°
Masonic Temple Association of Virginia, passed the thirteenth am
day of March, eighteen hundred and fifty-eight, as amended by 43;
an act approved March thirty-first, eighteen hundred and sev- A‘
enty-one, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
“§ 2. The capital stock of said company shall not be less ca
than twenty-five thousand, nor more than three hundred thou- *
sand dollars, to be subscribed in shares of twenty-five dollars
each. Any society of Free-masons in the state of Virginia 41
may become stockholders in said association, and upon appli- ¢,
cation of the proper authorities of any such society to the ¢
circuit court of the city of Richmond, or of the county or
corporation in which such society may be resident, it shall be
the duty of such court to appoint trustees, either where there 1;
are none, or in the place of former trustees, and such court is bh
authorized and empowered hereafter, from time to time, to a
change those so appointed whenever it may seem to the court
proper; and the said trustees so appointed shall hold, for the L
use and benefit of such society, the legal title to any and all tt
shares of stock in said association subscribed for by the said
society, with all the powers and privileges, and subject to all r
the restrictions and provisions imposed by the seventy-eighth *
chapter of the Code of Virginia on trustees appointed as there- c.
in provided, to hold the legal title to property for the use and ™
benefit of such societies.”
