Chap. 371.—An ACT to Prevent Prize Fighting, and the Fighting of
Dogs, Cocks, and other Animals, in the County of Alexandria.
Approved March 26, 1872.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That any and all
persons who may, within the limits of Alexandria county,
engage in prize fighting, or in the fighting of dogs, cocks, or
other animals, for prize or diversion, shall, on conviction
thereof, be adjudged guilty of a misdemeanor, and fined not
less thun one hundred dollars or more than five hundred dol-
lars, for each and every offence—one-half to go to the common-
wealth, and the other one-half to the school fund for the
district where the offence is committed.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
