Chap. 323.—An ACT in Reference tothe Unpaid Taxes for the Years
1866, 1867, 1868, and 1869.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the clerks of
the county courts, or other officers or persons having in charge
or custody unpaid tax tickets due to the state or county for
the years eighteen hundred and sixty-six, eighteen hundred
and sixty-seven, eighteen hundred and sixty-eight, and eigh-
teen hundred and sixty-nine, are hereby directed to deliver to
the treasurers of their respective counties all of such tickets,
and to take from the said treasurer his official receipt therefor,
except such tax tickets as have been returned delinquent and
accepted by the court: provided, that this act does not apply
to tax tickets now in the hands of sheriffs or their deputies.
2. The treasurers of the respective counties of this state
are hereby authorized and directed to receive and collect, in
the same manner and by the same process they do other tax
tickets, all the unpaid tax tickets delivered to them under the
above section of this act; and they shall, in their settlements
with the auditor of public accounts and with the supervisors
of their respective counties, render an account of the tax
tickets received under this act and the amount collected
thereon.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
