tors from this State to Vote for the Repeal of the Duties on Tea and
Coffee.

1. Resolved by the house of delegates (the senate concur-.
ring), That the Hons. John F. Lewis and John W. Johnston, |
the United States senators from this state, be and they hereby : '
are urgently requested and instructed to vote for the repeal of '
the present duties on tea and coffee, and otherwise use their
influence for the passage of the house bill now before the sen-
ate providing for such repeal, it being the sense of the general
assembly of this state that these two articles of prime necessity
and general consumption should be admitted to the free list.
