Chap. 312.—An ACT for the Relief of Lewis F. Glass and others, Sureties
of Charles A. Milton, late Collector of Battletown Township, in Clarke
County.

Whereas, it is represented that Charles A. Milton, late col-
lector of Battletown township, in the county of Clarke, has left
the commonwealth without settling his accounts, leaving some
tax accounts uncollected, and having made no return of delin-
quents:
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the successor of said Milton, as collector aforesaid, be and he
is hereby authorized to take charge of the tax accounts so left
by said Milton, and collect the sume and make return of the
delinquents; for which purpose the said successor of said Mil-
ton is hereby clothed with all the powers with which said Mil-
ton was invested prior to the first day of March, eighteen
hundred and seventy-two; and the time for making a settle-
ment of the accounts of said Milton is extended to the first
day of December, eighteen hundred and seventy-two.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
