Chap. 262.—An ACT Authorizing the Legally Constituted Trustees of
the Methodist Episcopal Church and Congregation at Gordonsville to
Borrow Money and Execute a Deed of Trust.
Approved March 21, 1872.
Whereas, it is represented that the Methodist Episcopal Preambi
church and congregation at Gordonsville, for the purpose of
completing their new house of worship, have contracted a debt
oxy money borrowed, and that they are desirous of securing
he same: therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That.
; Shall be lawful for the legally constituted trustees of said
hurch and congregation to execute a deed of trust upon the
uilding now being erected by them for a house of worship,
nd the lot on which it stands, for the purpose of securing
ny debts heretofore contracted for money borrowed to aid in
he erection of their new church building, or of securing any
oan made by them, for the purpose of discharging any such
ebt, which deed shall be subject to the provisions of chapter
ne hundred and seventeen of the Code of Virginia, edition of
ighteen hundred and sixty, and shall be as effectual as if
xecuted by an individual.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
