1. Beit enacted by the general assembly, That section one.

chapter 55, Code of Virginia, edition of eighteen hundred ‘and
sixty, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 1. Any number of persons, not less than twenty nor more
than ninety, residing in a town, may form themselves into a
company for extinguishing fire on buildings. e

2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
