Chap. 23,—An ACT Allowing Incorporated Towns of this Commonwealth
to use the County Jails.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
every incorporated town of this commonwealth having no jail
of its own shall have the use of the jail of the county in which
such town shall be located, to aid the constituted authorities
of any such town in maintaining peace and good order, and
generally for the enforcement of its ordinances and by-laws,
unless for good cause the judge of the county court of such
county shall prohibit such use.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
