County and Township Levies, throughout the Commonwealth.

ora of 1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
ter™ the collectors of taxes and county and township levies of , the

the first of March, eighteen hundred and seventy-two, as now

of said townships; that the said treasurers be allowed until
the fifteenth of May, exehteen hundred and seventy-two, to
‘tine to make their final settlements with the auditor of public accounts,
Mhau- or other proper oflicer of the taxes of said townships: provided,
the extension of time hereby granted shall not apply to taxes
and county and township levies already collected and in the
hands of the said officers; but that all collections made by
them prior to the first day of March, eightecn hundred and
seventy-two, shall be paid into the treasury at the time pre-
scribed by law. me

tion of the same. And if the said tax bills shall not be paid,

sureties as he would have done on the first of March, eighteen
hundred and seventy-two.
