Chap. 193.—JOINT RESOLUTION Asking Congress to Amend the Bank
rupt Act of the United States in such Manner as will Allow Person:
Taking its Benefits in Virginia an Exemption equal in amount to tha
Allowed Under the Homestead Act of the State.
Agreed to March 13, 1872.
1. Resolved by the senate (the house of delegates concur.
ring,) That the congress of the United States be respectfully
requested to amend the bankrupt act in such manner as will
secure to persons taking its benefits in Virginia an exemption
equal in amount to that allowed by the homestead ‘act of the
state
2. Resolved, That a copy of the foregoing resolution be
transmitted to congress, and that our senators be instructed
and our representatives requested to take such steps as they
may deem best to secure the said amendment
