Chap. 140.—AN ACT to Amend and Re-enact Section Sixteen of Chapter
One Hundred and One of the Code of Eighteen Hundred and Sixty, in
regard to Fishing in the Rappahannock River.
Approved March 2, 1872.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That section six-
teen of chapter one hundred and one of the Code of eighteen
hundred and sixty, be amended and re enacted so as to read
as follows:
“s 16. If any person, not a resident of this state, haul or
fish with any seine in any of the waters thereof, or fish’ in the
waters of the Rappahannock or York rivers, or their tributa-
nes, in any other way than by a line held in the hand, or at
tached to a pole or rod held in the hand, he shall forfeit not
less than twenty-five nor more than two hundred and fifty
dollars, one-half whereof shall be to the informer.”
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
