Chap. 104.—An ACT to Authorize the Trustees of Sycamore Congrega-
tion to Borrow Money and Execute a Mortgage to Secure the same.
Approved February 20, 1872.
Whereas, it is represented to the general assembly that the F
Disciples of Christ, known as the Sycamore congregation, in
the city of Richmond, are engaged in erecting a new house of
worship, on the corner of Grace and Seventh streets, and
desire to borrow money for the completion of the same:
therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That it shall be 7
lawful for the legally constituted trustees of said church and ¢
congregation to borrow such sum or sums of money as may p
be necessary for the completion of said church, and to execute >
‘bond or bonds for the same, as such trustees, and secure the b
-same by a deed of trust or mortgage upon said real estate, c
which deed or mortgage shall be as effectual and binding as if °
executed by an individual, and except as may be herein other §
wise provided, shall be subject to the provisions of chapter 5
one hundred and seventeen of the Code of Virginia, edition ¢
eighteen hundred and sixty.
2. This act shall be in force from and after its passage. c
