Chap. 86.—An ACT for the Construction of a Pier in Mud Creek:
Approved March 4, 1871.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
James P. Saunders of the county of Lancaster is hereby au-
thorized to build or construct a pier in Mud creek, a tributary
of the Rappahannock river and in the county aforesaid, for
the purpose of culling and bedding or planting oysters in said
creek. The said pier shall not in any way obstruct the navi-
gation of said creek: provided, that if any damages shall be
inflicted on any person holding property on the said creek in
consequence of the construction of said pier, the said James
P. Saunders shall pay such damages as shall be ascertained by
law: provided further, that the consent of the county court
be first obtained.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
