Chap. 63.—An ACT to Amend and Re-enact Section 6 of an Act approved
June 17, 1870, entitled an Act to Authorize the Formation of the Atlantic,
Mississippi and Ohio Railroad Company.
Approved February 4, 1871.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the sixth
section of an act entitled an act to authorize the formation of
the Atlantic, Mississippi and Ohio railroad company, approved
June seventeenth, eighteen hundred and seventy, be amended
and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
““§ 6. That in the primary organization of the said Atlantic,
Mississippi and Ohio railroad company, as herein provided,
and in all subsequent meetings of the same, each stockholder
shall be entitled to cast, in person or by proxy, one vote for
each share of stock held in the said company; and at such pri-
mary organization, or at any annual meeting of the stockhold-
ers of the said company, it shall be competent to elect such
number of directors as the stockholders may see fit, and to de-
termine the mode of electing a president and directors, and to
prescribe their terms of office: provided, no election of presi-
dent nor of any director shall be for a period of more than five
years for any one term.”
2. This act shail be in force from its passage.
