Chap. 249.—An ACT to Authorize the Judge of Campbell County to Order
a New Registration in Brookville Township.
Approved March 29, 1871.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly ot Virginia, That
it shall be lawful for the county judge of Campbell county to
order and direct that a registration of the voters of Brookville
township, in said county, be had ten days previous to any spe-
cial election which may be held in said township prior to the
regular election in May, eighteen hundred and seventy-one.
2. Such registration shall be under the general registration
law in force in this commonwealth, and the registrars shall re-
vise the registration lists heretofore made at their respective
voting places, and shall strike from said lists the names of all
persons who are not at the time of such revision, residents in
said voting district, and entitled to register under the general
registration law of the commonwealth ; and the said registrars
van post a list at each voting place of the names so stricken
off.
3. The county judge may, and he is hereby authorized to
designate one or more voting places in said township other
than those heretofore designated; and it shall be his duty, by
appointment, to fill any vacancies in the registrars of said
township; and the said judge shall, in ordering such registra-
tion, designate the number of days that the books shall be
kept open.
4, This act shall be in force from its passage.
