Chap. 22.—An ACT Requiring Certain Officers to Regulate and Supervise °
Elections Held for School Purposes.
Approved December 23, 1870.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That all county
and township officers who, under the general laws of the state,
are charged with the conduct of elections and the determina-
tion of the results thereof, and also all such officers as are
charged with the assessment and collection of taxes, are here-
by required to render official service in the matter of votes or-
dered and taxes imposed for public free school purposes, un-
der such regulations as shall be prescribed by the board of
education. But all elections held for public free school pur-
poses, shall be held after notice thereof, given according to the
fifth section of the act to provide for a general election, ap-
proved May eleventh, eighteen hundred and seventy. —
2. This act shall be in force from and after its passage.
