Whereas James C. Robertson, late sheriff of Page county,
was removed from office on the twenty-eighth day of Febru-
ary eighteen hundred and seventy, having due hima large
amount of taxes, and also fee bills and county levies; and the
jadge of the county court of said county having appointed
Tarner EK. Jett collector of taxes, fee bills and county levies
due and in arrear; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
Turner E. Jett, collector of taxes, fee bills and county levies
due and in arrears in the county of Page for the years eighteen
hundred and sixty-six, sixty-seven, sixty-eight, and sixty-nine,
and the deputies whom he may appoint, shall possess the same
legal rights in the collection of the same as the sheriffs of this
commonwealth had or possessed at the dates hereinbefore
mentioned; said right to continue for two years from the pas-
sage of this act.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
