Chap. 82.—An ACT defining further the Powers and Duties of the Clerk of
the Hustings Court of Richmond.
. Approved May 12, 1870.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the clerk of
the hustings court of the city of Richmond shall take charge
and have the custody of al the public property, records,
books and papers formerly appertaining and belonging to the
hustings court of magistrates of the city of Richmond, and
the hustings court of the city of Richmond, held by the judge
thereof, except such property, records, books and papers as
have, by law, been transferred. to the chancery court of the
city = ichmond, or to the circuit court of the city of Rich-
mond.
‘2. The clerk of the present hustings court of said city,
shall have all the powers and perform all the duties which
heretofore devolved upon the clerk of the hustings courts for-
merly existing in the city of Richmond, except such powers.
and duties as have been, by law, transferred to the circuit and
chancery courts aforesaid; and said clerk shall continue to
discharge said. duties and. exercise such powers until other
provision be made by law.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
