Chap. 235.—An ACT to Provide for Filling the Office of Superintendent of
the Poor.
Approved July 9, 1870.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That it shall be
the duty of the board of supervisors of each county, when
they meet to fix the county levy for the year eighteen hundred
and seventy, to elect a superintendent of the poor for each
county, whose duty it shall be to perform all the duties of su-
erintendent, and who shall hold his office until his successor
is elected and qualified under the provisions of the constitu-
tion.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
