Chap. 14.—An ACT to provide for filling a vacancy in the office of Lieu-
tenant-Governor or Attorney-General.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That when a
vacancy sball occur in the office of lieutenant-governor or
attorney-general during the recess of the general assembly,
the governor shall fill such vacancy by appointment, to expire
at the end of thirty days after the reassembling of the general
assem bly.
2. The general assembly shall, within thirty days after so
reassembling, next after such vacancy shall occur, or when
euch yacancy shall occur during the session of the general
assembly, within thirty days from the time it does occur, by
joint vote of the two houses thereof, fill said vacancy for the
unexpired term.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage, and all acts or
parts of acts inconsistent with this act, are hereby repealed.
