Chap. 93.—An ACT to provide for the erection of the Jetlerson Statue at
the University of Virginia.

Passed April 25, 1897,

1. Be it enacted by the general asseinbly, That the first
auditor be directed to issue his warrant on the treasury,
payable oat of any moneys not otherwise appropriated, to
the rector and visitors of the University of Virginia. for the
sum of five hundred dollars. to be expended, or so much
thereof as may be necessary for the purpose, in the comple-
tion of the raising and fixing in proper position, the statue of’
Thomas Jefferson, heretofore directed to be exeented by the
general assembly of Virginia, by the act entitled an act au-
thorizing the construction of a statue of Jefferson, passed
twenty tirst of Februar y, eighteen hundred and fifty-four.
