Chap. 92.—An ACT to provide for an Index to the Statutes at Large.
Passed April 25, 1867.

1, Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the hbrary
committee be authorized to contract with N.P. Toward,
Esg., or some other proper person, for the preparation of a
general index to the statutes of Virginia, prior to those
passed by the present general assen mbly, upon such plan as
said committee may approve and prescribe, and for superin-
tending the publication of said index, as may hereatter be
provided for.

2. The compensation for preparing said index and for su-
Perintending its publication, shall not exceed two thousand
dollars, and shall be paid on the certificate of the said com-
mittee, as may be provided in the contract.

This act shall be in force from its passage.
