Chap. 17.—An ACT for the relief of the Mutual Fire Insurance Company
of Loudoun County,
Passed March 15, 187.
1. Be it enaeted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the charter of the Mutual fire insurance company, of the
county of Loudoun, shall not be impaired or in any way
affected by the resolution adopted by the president and di-
rectors of said company, and which is in the following words:
“Resolved, That no premiums of insurance, in the nature of
interest on premium notes for the year commencing on the
first day of January next, and ending on the thirty-first day
of December, eighteen hundred and sixty-two, shall be de-
vanded or received by the company trom any of its mem-
Tors s, and that no loss sustained by any member of the com-
pany (under any policy of insurance-issucd by said company),
for the same period of time, shall be paid. thus suspending
its Operations, so far as these are concerned, tor that length
of time; but that all other rights and priviledies of each and
every member of this company, as such, shall remain in full
force and virtue during that period, in the same manner as
though this resolution had not been adopted; and that with-
out some further action of the company or of this board,
each and every member shall stand and oecupy the same
position to the company, on the first day of January, eigh-
teen hundred and sixty-three, that he or she would on the
thirty-first day of December, eighteen bundred and sixty-
one: provided, however, that in the interim every member
may be permitted to withdraw from the said company, as
now allowed, and the right to cancel any policy may be ex-
ercised by the company ;” and that the rights and duties and
liabilities shall remain and be in the same condition as if said
resolution had never been adopted.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
