Chap. 136.—An ACT to authorize the Board of Public Werks to sell and
convey unto the Richmond, Fredericksburg and Potomac and the Rich-
mond and Petersburg Railroad Connection Company, a portion of the
Real Estate of the Commonwealth known as the Penitentiary Property,
or to grant aright of way to said company over sud real estate.
Passed April 20, 1867.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the Board of public works be and are hereby authorized to
sell and convey unto the Richmond, l'redericksburg and Po-
tomnace and the Richmond and Petersburg railroad connection
company, for such price and upon such terms as to the said
board may seem just and reasonable, that portion of the real
extate of the commonwealth known as the venitentiary pro-
perty, over which the railroad of the said company passes ;
or if it shonld be deemed by said board iore advisable for
the interest of the commonwealth, they are hereby anthyrized
to grant unto the said company, for such price and upon such
terms as to them may seem Jusi, a perpetual right of w ay for
its railroad over the said portion of the penitentiary property.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
