iithelan aet incorporating the Lynchburg and Danville Rairoad Com-
pany, passed February 21st. 1866.

1 Beit enacted by the general assembly, That the first
scction of an act passed April twenty-sixth, Ghtee ‘n hundred
and sixty-seven, entitled an act to ‘amend and re-enact the
first section of an act entitled an act Incorporating the Lynch-
burgand Danville radlroad Company, passed February twenty:
first, clehteen hundred and. sixty-six, be amended and re-en-
neted so as to read as follows:
6S 1. Beat enacted by the general assembiy, That it shall
be lawinl to open books of subscription in the city of Lynch-
burg, under the direction of F. B. Deane, Samuel McCorkle,
Jolin M. Warwick. D. W. Barton, Bowling Clarke, Charles
HW. Lynch, A. J. Clarke, or any three of them; and in the
town of Danville onder the direction of W iam W. keen
W. LT. Sutherlin, J. C. Vass, J. M. Walker. William M. Tred-
way, J. ML Whittle, I. Mo Shuaraaker, or any three of them,
for the purpose of recciving subscriptions to an amount nol
exceeding two millions tive hundred thousand dollars, in
shares of one hundred dollars each, to constitute a joint
enpital stock for constructing a railroad from the city of
Lynichbure to the town of Danville; and it shall be lawtal
tor the Orange and Alexandria railrbad company, or, In the
event that sud Orange and Alexandria railroad company ac:
cepts the terms of the act passed February fourteenth,
eighteen hundred and sixty-seven, entided an act to authorize
the transfer of the property, charter and franchises of the
Manassas gap railroad company, and the stock shares in the
same, to the Orange and Alexandria railroad company, then
for the Orange, Alexandria and) Manassas railroad company
to subseribe to the stock to b@issued for this purpose, and to
pay such subscriptions in moncy, tren, rolling stock or other
rlroad material, or to egecute bonds therefor, Upon terms
to be avredl upon in each case by the parties, and without
being in any manner held accountable, as partners or other:
wise, except-to the extent and in the manner provided in
such contract.”
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
