Railing around the Washington Monument,
Passed April 26, 1857.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the sum ef
nine hundred dollars be and the same is hereby appropristed
out of any money in the public treasury not otherwise appre
priated, tor the purpose of erecting a railing of wrong
iron, five feet high, areund the Washington monument. en
the capitol square, and that the secretary of the comme
wealth be and he is her eby authorized to contract tor the
same upon such terms as he may deem judicious and proper:
and the auditoreof public accounts is hereby authorized to
issue his warrant on the treasury, upon the certificate of the
secretary of the commonwealth, for said sum of money, or
so much thereof as may be needed for the purposes of this
act.
This act shall be in force from its passage.
