CHAP. 98.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 30, chapter 78 of
the Code of 1878, so as to reduce the pay of school distriet clerks,

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
section thirty of chapter seventy-cight of the Code of cighteen
hundred and seventy-three, be amended and re-enacted so as to
read as follows:

6 50. ‘The clerk shall discharge such other duties in connec-
tion with the school business of the district as may be required
of him, and for his services he may be aliowed, out of the dis-
trict funds, not exceeding two dollars a day for every day of
service rendered: provided that the whole amount received by
him for any one year shall not be greater than at the rate of
two dollars for each public free school conducted according to
law in his district within that year.

2. This act shall be in force on and after August first, eigh-
teen hundred and seventy-nine.
